The Organization

Altruvest BoardMatch™, a registered charity, trains and matches corporate leaders and volunteers for board positions within local non-profit organizations. Initially created in Toronto in 1995 to advise non-profits on how to improve their effectiveness, it became apparent that finding and retaining qualified board members was a significant issue, particularly for small-to-mid-size non-profits. In 1999, Altruvest decided the best way to maximize their impact was to focus exclusively on governance. With that in mind, they created a program to prepare aspiring leaders to become effective non-profit board members.  Corporations sponsored employees for the training and Altruvest, in turn, helped facilitate their placement on appropriate non-profit boards.

In the past year, since adopting a new strategic plan the Altruvest Board Match Leadership (BML) program is expanding across Canada with programs upcoming in the US. A new technology platform designed to significantly enhance the ability to place board candidates and deliver additional BML training options, is scheduled for launch in early 2025.

With this fresh new mandate and focus on growth, Altruvest is seeking an Executive Director (ED) to lead this next stage in their evolution.
