Position Mandate
The Company seeks a skilled Sales Director to lead their efforts in increasing market share by increasing sales with existing and new customers. This role demands a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the sales process, specifically within the payment terminals industry.
Location and Travel: Remote (Canada or the US) with 30% to 50% travel
Position Impact (Responsibilities)
Future Revenue: Consistently meet or exceed assigned revenue targets through the profitable sale of the company’s products and services.
Lead Management: Identify, qualify, and analyze sales leads. Focus on high-return opportunities and manage time and territory effectively.
Sales Strategy: Develop and implement sales strategies and plans aligned with company and customer growth objectives, budgets, and project timelines.
Customer Relationships: Build and maintain strong business relationships by providing support, information, and guidance. Research and recommend new sales opportunities and improvements.
Sales Tracking: Maintain accurate sales tracking systems, develop precise sales forecasts, and provide lead times for necessary adjustments.
Industry Insight: Maintain a thorough understanding of the payment terminals industry, including competitor offerings and differentiation points.
Professional Development: Stay current with industry trends through educational workshops, professional publications, and networking.
Candidate Profile
Industry Experience: Proven experience in the payments/point of sale industry with a strong network of industry contacts. Familiarity with major transaction acquirers, processors, ISOs, ISVs, tier-one and tier-two retailers, and payment application software providers.
Sales Success: Demonstrated success in direct and indirect sales channels within complex business environments. High close ratio and track record of building strong business relationships.
Skills: Proficient in professional selling techniques, including need definition, value proposition establishment, and objection handling. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on solution-driven approaches.
Teamwork: Ability to work independently while being an effective team player in coordination with order fulfillment, planning, scheduling, customer support, finance, product management, engineering, and project management teams.
Self-Driven: Independent, self-motivated, and results-oriented, with a strong drive to achieve and exceed targets.
