The BC Green party is on a mission to transform politics in British Columbia and ivy Group has partnered with the BC Green Caucus on their search for a new Chief of Staff. This key position will help them lead this mission with their caucus team in the legislature.
Reporting to the leader of the BC Green Party, the Chief of Staff leads the BC Green caucus operations and facilitates a collective vision that is conceived and achieved through the efforts of a diverse team of high-performing leaders and staff. If you are a proven team leader who can facilitate strategy, policy, governance, and operations, we’d like to speak with you.
To be a successful candidate for this role, you must:
- Hold a relevant post-secondary credential from an accredited college or university; or equivalent training, education and experience
- Have five or more years’ experience in project management, team leadership, and communications experience, preferably in a political environment
- Have five or more years of experience working with stakeholder groups
- Experience managing a multi-disciplinary team

- Strategic planning and implementation

- Public speaking
As chief of staff, we expect that you will:
- Provide definitive and collaborative leadership
- Commit to the BC Greens Caucus principles, ethics, and policies
- Meet competing deadlines with a sense of urgency
- Define priorities and pay attention to detail
- Work on and complete multiple projects simultaneously
- Use your strong emotional intelligence and adapt quickly to change
- Possess excellent diplomacy and tact
- Inspire staff and volunteers to achieve a common objective
- Ensure performance planning, coaching, and development plans are in place for all employees to maximize their potential
- Ensure the employee evaluation process includes performance-based evaluations, merit increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions are complied with
- Work independently and as part of a geographically dispersed team
- Foster a safe and inclusive work environment where all employees feel comfortable and supported in their personal identities
- Think critically and anticipate trends, needs, and expectations
- Deliver projects on time and on budget
- Have a working knowledge of the legislative process
- Be able to travel on occasion, and work evenings and weekends as necessary

Starting salary range: $75,000 – $85,000
