Our client is a well-established Canadian SaaS company in Toronto entering a new stage of growth.

Position Mandate

In this newly created position, collaborating with the Board, the President will lead the implementation of a strategic vision and plan to grow topline annual recuring revenue in a cashflow positive company with a strong, well-regarded product.   Leveraging new and existing product strengths and market positioning, the President will ensure that the company is managed to support a robust go-to-market strategy designed to achieve significant revenue milestones.

Position Contributions and Impact

  • Strategic Leadership: In conjunction with the Board, provide vision, direction, and guidance, ensuring that the company is positioned for significant growth in the short and long term.
  • Organizational Transition: Lead and guide the development and implementation of an organizational culture and structure to support achievement of the company’s revenue and EBITDA goals. 
  • Team Building & Development: Round out and solidify the leadership team, ensuring that roles and responsibilities are clear and aligned with company goals.
  • Operational Excellence: Systemize business processes, ensuring clarity on roles, responsibilities, and accountability at all levels.
  • Growth & Expansion: Drive a topline growth rate that approaches or exceeds 50% in the first year. Explore and capitalize on new market opportunities.
  • Founder Transition: Facilitate the transition of the founding members from daily operational roles to advisory capacities, ensuring continuity and stability.
  • Stakeholder Management: Maintain open and transparent communication with all stakeholders, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and company values.
  • Continuous Improvement: Encourage a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and agility across the organization.

Experience, Skills and Knowledge

  • Strategic Vision and Business Acumen
  • Ability to set clear strategic priorities and align organizational resources.
  • Financial acumen to understand profit margins, cost structures, and key performance indicators that influence revenue.
  • Experience assessing the financial requirements to create success with experience raising capital an asset.
  • Operational Efficiency
    • Experience scaling operations to support growth, especially when targeting a different customer segment.
    • Knowledge of tools, software, and processes to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and increase service quality.
  • Sales, Customer Acquisition/ Retention, and Marketing Leadership
    • Experience with product led sales cycles.
    • Exposure to digital marketing led customer acquisition strategies. 
    • Scaling product, development and marketing teams.
    • Negotiation skills for closing deals and forming strategic partnerships.

  • Undergraduate degree in engineering or computer science with an MBA desirable.
